The following briefly describes our machining capabilities.
Calwire has six Swiss-made EDM machines equipped with large table travel and simultaneous four-axis machining. With the machines create a variety of miniature components including a critical piece for a surgical robot that allows doctors to suture a heart while it is beating.
Swiss Machining (Screw Machines)
We rely on 10 fully-capable Swiss turning machines (also called screw machines) to create dental and medical device components, namely complex, miniature screws and screw-machine parts. Our machines have the ability to do front working, back working, and side milling thanks to the fact that we have chosen machines with almost every add-on available.
5 Axis High-Speed Milling
Our Mikron 400u comes with an 18 station pallet changer, 68 station tool changer, touch probe, and laser measurer, which gives us the ability to run many complex parts unattended. Some of those parts, for example, include components that are critical to laser dentistry devices and titanium dental bars for permanent dentures.
With our milling machines, CalWire is also able to manufacture steel mold inserts that fit within a five-inch cube. Many manufacturers in the dental and medical device industries rely on our services because we can accurately control our machines to produce durable and exact mold inserts.
